PEER PRESSURE IMPACT ON BOYS MENTAL HEALTH

MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES
...Junior felt indifferent, too, but he didn’t leave. He ordered for Danish then sat back, waiting for his order and his friend, Gredge.
The young, dark lady had the mindset that she didn’t know any other young black guy like this before and has nothing doing with him. The only reason why he had come to the coffee shop was to wait for his friend and have a taste of Danish while there. He has called for a cup of coffee; it must be that he also intended buying it from the place. The receptionist looked young and elegant, a pretty, dark-looking lady; she lived far away from the neighbourhood.
Junior blamed himself for delaying his courage to express himself further as if he could request a date with her. There was something special about her, yet he couldn’t bring himself to ask if they could be friends. He was convinced in himself that he wanted to start up a good date with the black lady to make her his first girlfriend.
He forgot what brought him to the coffee shop in the first place, as he used this time to lust after the black lady receptionist remarked in his mind as his African queen. He imagined himself talking about a date with her, saying how interested in her for a friend and his readiness in making a good one.
It took twenty minutes more before Gredge and MacLean walked into the coffee shop to join him. They parked their car in the street right outside. Gredge looked really good and handsome; he bounced as he walked into the place, looking seductive; the smell of his cologne pervaded the point where he stood and gesticulated signals to Junior. Gredge beckoned on him to rise from his seat and come over to him so they could leave the shop together.
Gredge retrieved a cigarette from his chest pocket and ignited the lighter in his right hand to light it up. At the first bazz, the smell went bold, and smoke covered them up to overshadow the sweet and pleasant smell that had lingered in the air until now. Gredge never told Junior that he smoked....

...As he got out of the car, Gredge retrieved a pack of cigarettes from his lower pocket and a slim lighter to cool off, or so he claimed, but Junior was uneasy with Gredge’s habit. Junior wanted to speak up against their noticeable habits, but he remained quiet because he was a stranger on their land.
At a time when Junior couldn’t bear any more than he had seen of them, he called Gredge to a corner of the hall, where they stopped by to say ‘hello’ to Fether, an automobile technician in his mini workshop. Junior went on to say how disgusting the smell of cigarettes was to him and the damage it could do to Gredge’s lungs in the future. Junior also told him how he avoided smoking and drinking.
Gredge nodded his head many times to agree with him, but that was all he could do at that time. He didn’t absorb Junior’s excuses against the habit.Rather, he was determined to further introduce the habit to Junior in a forceful manner. Gredge slotted a cigarette stick between Junior’s lips and, because Junior wasn’t expecting that from him, the smoke quickly entered his nostrils, causing him to cough at ceaseless times against his will.
Some otherguys around saw this and laugh at Junior in a scornful manner.
He didn’t want to inhale, but he also didn’t want to encourage the scornful laughter from his friends and their clique that laughed. Junior remembered the doctrine he that was thought at home regarding his determination to revolt against questionable habits.
Suddenly, he became furious. Junior hit Gredge’s hand and made raise it to his face, and Gredge cut his nose to the point of bleeding.
Gredge punched back at Junior as if they were not friends.
Junior didn’t hesitate to throw some punches back at Gredge to make his nosebleed even worse.
The two engaged in combat, kicking at each other. They were well into the fight before MacLean heard the noise from the snooker floor and fled back to join them....
It was then when Gredge stopped throwing punches at Junior.
They left the hangout and drove out the car.
Maclean yelled at them, blaming the whole thing on Gredge, who was already drunk. He then pleaded with Junior, urging him into consider Gredge’s condition at the time. They all knew that Gredge was intoxicated but still expected a level of good behaviour since nobody fed him with the stuff, he got himself soaked.
MacLean wanted the guys settle the riff, but Gredge was heady; he wouldn’t keep quiet for a moment. He turned the car stereo up loud to drown out their talking.
Junior became even more infuriated, but he realized that he could do damage to anyone on whom he unleashed his fury. Junior subdued it in himself; he didn’t allow his anger to overtake him while the car sped off.
Junior: ‘Fuck you, Gredge, you aren’t human at all. Do you think that you can force me do anything out here?’
Gredge:‘Get out of here.
MacLean:‘You guys are just crazy fucking yourselves up out here! ...
